Dr. G... Per your request, here are my FLT comments since beginning the program in early May. Please pass this on to Barbara and Karen and feel free to share with others. Thanks.

   I have been in the FLT program for 9 weeks now, and I am feeling like a new person. I have lost 13 pounds to date and last measured (3 weeks ago) I had lost 1-1/2 inches from my waist and 2 inches from my hips, and all other tests done at your office show improvement. I would have never thought that I had a problem with gluten (wheat), but since virtually eliminating it from my diet along with fried foods and increasing my veggie intake, my digestive tract has been functioning much better. I used to feel bloated and gassy most of the time, which I had erroneously attributed to certain veggies not agreeing with me, when in fact it wasn't the veggies at all but rather the gluten products and grease I was eating. I have been suffering for many years with arthritis in my right knee which my extra pounds was not helping. I was just about to undergo my second round of arthroscopic surgery of that knee for a meniscus tear repair and arthritis clean-out (last done 3 years earlier) when I first began the FLT program at your suggestion. Since I was basically sedentary for the first few weeks of the program due to the recovery time from my surgery, imagine my surprise when I began losing 1-1/2 pounds a week by just sitting on my couch! It was a miracle!! I had not seen my bathroom scale go any direction but up for the last 20 years. With Barbara's nutrition guidance and the information she provided, the program was very easy to follow and something I can stick with for a lifetime. Now that I am almost totally recovered from my surgery, I am once again able to use my recumbent cycle at home which provides aerobic exercise and keeps my knee flexible, and Karen has started getting me slowly integrated into the fitness aspect of FLT... primarily strength/core training with hand weights/the ball and stretching... as my knee will allow. As things progress, I will increase the weights with the strength training and she will add in some band and ball exercises. I am feeling better than I have in years. I believe that without this program I would have continued to gain weight each year, my arthritis would have gotten progressively worse, and I may have ultimately developed diabetes or heart disease. You, Barbara, Karen, and the FLT program have saved my life! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
