Thomas first considered his career in massage while conducting research on Doctor/ Patient interaction and how it relates to malpractice.

“We looked at alternative healing methods… massage therapy became one of our primary models for establishing a better relationship between the caregiver and patient.

My affinity for bodywork grew rapidly and a major career change took place.”

For more than ten years, Thomas has explored bodywork in the U.S. as well as Asia. Thomas studied massage at the Sarasota School of Massage Therapy in Sarasota, Florida. In 1997, he received his teacher’s certification for Thai Massage at the Institute of Thai Massage, Chiang Mai, Thailand. He has also received training in East-West Somatics in Hawaii.

As a licensed practitioner in New York State, Thomas has enjoyed a variety of modality training such as deep tissue, lymph drainage, sports massage, neuromuscular, cranio-sacral, and hydrotherapy. In return, Thomas has taught Thai massage at Trocaire College in Buffalo, NY and other locations.

“I am fortunate to teach what I love… Every massage is an opportunity for growth and learning.

Thai Massage is performed on a mat with the client  wearing loose fitting clothing . Sometimes referred to as "Lazy Person’s Yoga", Thai massage incorporates facilitated stretching and energy work similar to Shiatsu with various massage techniques to give a truly thorough full body massage experience.

Lomi Lomi is the traditional healing art originally performed by Hawaiians. I will give an introduction to Opu Huli, an abdominal massage to assist with digestion and various aspects of health.

In 1997, Thomas received his teacher’s certification for Thai Massage at the Institute of Thai Massage, Chiang Mai, Thailand and has since received training at other locations throughout Thailand. Thomas studied Lomi Lomi under the guidance of Kumu Karen Leialoha Carroll in Oahu, Hawaii. Kumu Karen is a part of a long lineage of Hawaiian healers dating prior to American exploration/occupation.
