Acoustic Wave Therapy

for Cellulite & Skin Tightening

What is Cellulite?

Cellulite comes from fat cells being enlarged and bulging upwards towards the skin, reducing the elasticity of the connective tissue in the area and reducing blood circulation and lymphatic flow, which results in a dimpling, bumpy appearance. It’s often found mainly on the front and back of the thighs, hips, buttocks, and abdomen.

Many people have cellulite, and it can be found on people of all shapes and sizes. The tendency to have cellulite increases for people with a family history of it, and for those struggling with a poor diet, being overweight or obese, going through hormonal changes, and a history of smoking.

In addition, with age, the body’s ability to produce collagen and elastin decreases. This means that our connective tissue loses strength, flexibility, and elasticity. Luckily, we have a solution for all of this!

What is Acoustic Wave Therapy?

This ground-breaking therapy (ESWT) (Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy) uses a high-frequency, low-intensity acoustic wave to improve blood flow. It does this by activating dormant cells and new nerve tissue, repairing aged blood vessels, stimulating the growth of new blood vessels and collagen, and removing decades of plaque. It’s drug-free, non-invasive, and virtually pain-free, with no downtime required after treatment. Clients will experience a pulsing sensation that should not be painful. The level of sensation varies from individual to individual.

How does Acoustic Wave Therapy work for cellulite & skin tightening?

Our therapy will send an acoustic wave pulse deeply through the desired body tissues. The pulse will cause micro-trauma to the displaced fat cells and connective bands, which will then be replaced by new collagen and inspire the body’s natural healing. The deep vibrations will be given over a series of treatments and desired results begin to appear in the coming weeks after treatment. The healthy, renewed cellular tissue will create a firmer and smoother skin appearance.

Who is a candidate for treatment?

Individuals with unwanted cellulite, skin dimpling in an area of their body that is bothersome or causing them to feel self-conscious, are great candidates for this amazing technology.  Unfortunately, there are a few conditions that would cause a person to be unable to receive treatment, and those include pregnancy, clotting disorders, regular use of anticoagulant medications, open wounds or infection at the site of treatment, active cancer or tumor at the site of treatment, or a pacemaker.

What should you expect?

At your initial consultation?

During the initial consultation, you will meet with a provider to review your concerns and goals. We will discuss the therapy with you and answer any questions you may have. We will also review any previous treatments you have sought to address your concerns and take a brief medical history. Your areas of concern will be examined to determine whether this therapy is right for you and approximately how many sessions will be required to achieve optimal results. We will then book you for your first session!

 On treatment day?

On the day of treatment, your provider will greet you and take you to the therapy room. The provider will review your goals and treatment plan and ask you to expose the area to be treated that day. You will be given a draping sheet for modesty reasons as needed, and during the treatment, all non-essential areas of your body will remain covered. A warm gel will be applied so the device moves smoothly over your skin at all times, and you will feel a pulsing sensation during treatment. Your session will last approximately 20-30 minutes, depending on the location of your treatment that day. You will then get dressed, receive your post-treatment instructions, and make your next appointment!

What is the recovery process?

Our Acoustic Wave Therapy is non-invasive, virtually pain-free, and requires no recovery time after treatment. Clients can resume normal daily activities right after treatment, as no downtime is required. Some mild inflammation or redness may occur, which will fade quickly. If you are prone to bruising or sensitivity, this side effect is possible. All of these outcomes would be rare and temporary.

What type of results should I expect & how many sessions does it take?

Results do vary among clients based on the level of cellulite being treated. An effective number of sessions will be determined at your initial consultation and monitored as treatments progress. Most clients require 6-12 treatments over several weeks at an interval of 2-3 per week, and noticeable changes occur after the first couple weeks. Results are long-lasting, lasting for several years, but for truly maintained outcomes, it is recommended that you continue to have a maintenance session to treat the area a few times a year.
